The first annual ladies weekend.

OH MY GOD! We had so much fun. The great thing was all we did was eat, drink coffee and stroll on the beach. It was so relaxing. I missed my family but not like crazy. I got to sleep in and gossip (my all time favorite thing second to riding of course) and eat.

We stayed in Aptos which is a little town close to Santa Cruz. The beach was about a mile away. They have a little museum there with a tide pool. I can't wait to do a family trip with the kids. The beach is actually Sea cliff state park if you care to google it. At the end of a pier there is the remnants of an old Concrete ship. The history of the ship is that there were three of these "cement boats" made at the end of WWI by the time it was done, the war was over. So the ship was bought by a private company it's one and only voyage took the SS Palo Alto from around Oakland to Aptos where it was docked and turned into a entertainment ship. It had a heated pool, a ball room and a large dinning room. Unfortunately about two years later the stock market crashed and the company couldn't keep it running so there it sat. A large wave cracked the hull and so it has fallen in to a ruin like state. It is very cool lookin though. Any way I can't wait to go back. Thanks to my Very good friend Pam who invited us to stay at her family's little house. Which also was very cool. I think the house must have been built around the 60's sometime. Pam thinks that her Great Grandmother bought it new. I think everything in it is still original. Poor Pam has and Wicked Aunt who is part owner with her Grandma who won't allow it to be fixed up. Here are the pics.

I thought this stove was so cute. I took more pics of stuff in the house but they wouldn't fit in this blog.

I thought the pattern the rocks and water made in the sand was so pretty. My pictures and my little camera can't do it justice.

My three wonderful friends. I am sure they all appreciate that I took their picture from the rear. he he

The "Cement Boat" or the S.S. Palo Alto.

This is Pam. It's her beach house. Thanks Pam.

I like the beach picture. It looks quilted. That's how I'd write it too, ".. the waves quilted the beach, each rock a button, the foaming edges like lace. "

if you could have seen the clouds, I am quite certain they were like horses tumbling over each other.
