Ugh! It's only Wednesday! Oh well, the good news is I am going to the mountains this weekend. TLC The Hunter, his cousins, his cousins wife (who is one my best bud ever) The Hunters sister and all of our childrens are also going. We will be traveling to the lovely town (town is a strong word here) of Mineral, CA. It is just at the base of Mt. Lassen. The cousin's wife, (we'll call her Tam,) has a family cabin there. We haul our trailer up and park out side and every body else sleeps inside. It is a tight fit to be sure. We always have such a good time hiking and drinking and eating and drinking and shooting Beebe guns and drinking. After all that fun we usually have a fire in the pit, roast marshmallows and have a cocktail.
The Hunter is a planner. Me not so much. This fact drives him insane. So in lieu of redirecting his insanity to mildly crazy, the gals of the family decided to make THE PLAN to go to the cabin for mothers day (and the 24th anniversary of cousin Cat's 25th birthday)
Day one will start with us leaving early and heading to a fanTABulous restaurant called Granzella's for brunch. It's a super cute place with a country feel and a bunch of dead animals on the wall (right up The Hunters alley). Then we head up the road through Red Bluff, CA. (They have a great rodeo in case you were wondering) then up the side of the mountain. On day two we are going to Mill Creek. They have another charming diner and make super hamburgers and onion rings. (Hmm, does anyone else see a pattern here.) I am sure all the empty/spare time will be filled up with fishing and digging in the dirt. Sunday we will head home. Perhaps stopping at Mineral Lodge for Mothers day Breakfast. It's a good thing I belong to a gym. I am pretty sure this won't be a low calorie weekend.
I will be sure to post some pictures of all our adventures.
Totally of topic but more good news is The Hunter was accepted into the Operators Engineers (inspection division) apprenticeship program. This means he'll hopefully be back at work soon. Then we can all stop riding the crazy train around Nutsville.

My new favorite thing is the GYM. I know, I know. I just started back in and it's great! It's a chain called Fitness Evolution. It's super low cost and all the equipment is brand new. They have a cardio theater. That is where you go into a movie like theater (lights off and stuff) and watch a movie on the big screen while you work out. I was skeptical at first, but let me tell you it's awesome. Then they have the regular weight equipment, a whole circuit training area, classes, tanning and hydro massage tables. All this for under 15 bucks a month. Oh, and I can bring a guest every time. Needless to say I love it. I never have time on the weekends to work out with out The Littlest Cowboy so I go on my lunch. It really is a pick me up for the middle of the day. I strongly advise anyone who sits at a desk to get up and at least walk in the middle of the day. It makes such a difference.

I am back!
Wow! What the hell happened? I feel like I just blogged. (nope that would have been two years ago) So much has happened. First off I got a J.O.B. The Hunters back got so bad a little over a year ago that he was hospitalized twice! His disc between L-5, S-1 is pretty much gone. So he has officially retired from the sheet metal trade. He is, however, feeling pretty awesome these days and is looking for a "low impact" type job. So since he wasn't working we decided I should go back to work. (That whole no money thing really sucks) I first got a job working with Mom at Michaans Auctions. I loved it except that it was an hour commute both ways. Thankfully one of my pals is President of a construction company right in my own little town 12 min from home and offered me a job working the front desk. SOLD!
The littlest Cowboy. (who by the way is not so little anymore) started Kindergarten last August. He is brilliant. His first report card was exceptional. The only negative comments that his sweet little teacher (she is only 22) left is that he talks too much. Dang, I was really hoping that skipped a generation. No such luck.
My giant pony is still doing pretty good. I have been riding quite a bit lately. Vaquero Girl (A.K.A Mom ) suggested I try Ranch Pleasure. I kinda balked at first but after letting in germinate for a bit and reading the rules it's sounding like a better idea.
I have gotten back into the gym and running on my lunch hours. I tell you trying to fit in being an awesome mom, a healthy person a dedicated horseperson and a good wife into one day is tough. I plan on being around the old blogger page a little more.
